Redesigned & Reconstructed

PA Turnpike Bridges

The PA Turnpike Milepost A20-A31 Total Reconstruction Project began with bridge reconstruction in 2008. A number of bridges would need to be reconstructed to prepare for an additional lane of traffic in both the northbound and southbound lanes between the Mid-County Interchange and Lansdale Exit.

The newly designed and reconstructed bridges feature a stone architectural treatment  created with Architectural Polymers’ 898 Rustic Ashlar Stone. All contained center piers, wingwalls and abutments are fully clad in architectural surface treatment with colorization applied by Architectural Polymers.

The PA Turnpike Commission announced the use of retaining and sound barrier walls to reduce the impact of both construction and traffic along the project corridor.  Faddis Concrete used Architectural Polymers 905 Ashlar Stone for soundwalls.
